Tracking Hyrox training and recovery in one place
Train. Recover. Repeat.

Hyrox prep mixes running, strength and long sessions. Tracking training next to sleep and recovery shows when you're adapting and when you need a lighter day.

A hybrid sport needs a hybrid log

Hyrox combines eight 1 km runs with eight functional stations, from sled push and pull to wall balls. Prep usually mixes running, strength and long conditioning sessions, which makes it easy to lose track of your overall load.

What's worth tracking

  • Sessions: what you did and how hard it felt. A simple 1 to 10 effort score is enough.
  • Station work: times or reps on the stations you're working on, so progress is visible.
  • Sleep: duration and consistency, especially in heavy weeks.
  • Morning recovery numbers: resting heart rate and HRV, compared with your own baseline.

Read training and recovery together

The useful part is seeing them side by side. A run of hard sessions alongside shorter sleep and a rising resting heart rate is a pattern many athletes watch for. Recovery numbers that hold steady through a big block suggest the load is landing well.

Everyone responds differently, so your coach or health professional is the best person to help you interpret it.

Planning around race day

Most Hyrox prep runs in blocks: building volume, sharpening with race-pace work, then easing off before the event. Tracking helps at each stage:

  • Building blocks: check that sleep and recovery numbers keep up as weekly load rises.
  • Race-specific work: log station times and full or half simulations so you can see progress.
  • Taper week: expect resting heart rate and HRV to settle as training drops, and protect your sleep.
  • After the race: log how you recovered, which helps you plan the next block.

Over a season, these notes become your own playbook.
